The present programme of the duet Saitensprung is a tribute to spring, the reawakening of the "joie de vivre" - rhythm and energy, feelings and love. Dances, musical images of nature and the soul are characteristic features of the new programme. The pieces all share the Spanish/South American air of the music by Granados, Piazzolla, Pujol, and Domeniconi.
The selection spans the old and the new world in musical terms: starting off with a piece by Nicolo Paganini, probably the best-known violinist and guitarist of his time, taking in contemporary music by the American composer Beaser and reaching as far as Argentina and Piazzolla's tangos. The feeling of the "Café 1930" - melancholic, strong and soft at the same time -, the pulsating life of "Buenos Aires", virtuoso melodies and the rousing rhythms of Mexican dances allow the musicians to give free reign to their joy of performing.
